A gripper is an important piece of equipment. It gives you traction and therefore stability on your slider foot. The only time it is usually taken off is during delivery. Your gripper should be replaced every year! Or whenever you notice it breaking down. When you see holes forming, your gripper is long past due for a replacement.
We recommend you clean your gripper regularly with soap and water. Dirt picked up while playing can build up inside the gripper, causing a nasty cycle of putting more dirt back on the ice.
